With more than 16 years of technology and professional services experience, Ms. Lina leads Lina Group's strategic marketing consulting work with information technology professional services. She specializes in helping professional services differentiate themselves by establishing dominant market positions in focused target markets, using a proprietary Lina Group methodology. Ms. Lina has performed consulting assignments with companies such as Andersen Consulting, IBM, and Sun Microsystems, as well as start-ups and small businesses seeking aggressive growth. She has contributed to a number of articles and white papers dealing with trends in technology, telecommunications, and media. She has delivered numerous formal presentations on these topics at industry meetings and academic institutions including Oxford, Yale and the University of Virginia.
Prior to starting Lina Group in 1992, Ms. Lina served as Director of Worldwide Marketing for the Communications Industry Group (CIG) at Andersen Consulting. She helped launch the practice and grow it to $250 million in revenues within five years. She managed its strategy, marketing, sales support, and business operations activity in 48 offices throughout 20 countries. Among the many programs she created while at Andersen is GCF, a global summit of top communications and media industry executives. She was also involved in some of the firm's first electronic commerce research.
She is very involved in the development of young people and child advocacy concerns. She has also conducted a great deal of research on the roles of technology and media in child development. She is past chairperson of the national children's media literacy initiative sponsored by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Pacific Mountain Network. She is also a founding partner and advisory board member of the non-profit Children's Information Trust, established to promote the development of pro-social interactive media for kids.
Ms. Lina is an active member of the American Marketing Association and National Association of Female Executives. She speaks German, plays classical piano and enjoys traveling, sailing, water-skiing and hiking. Ms. Lina earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
