A couple of Diamond facets: The chief innovation officer of DiamondCluster, the merged entity formed by Diamond Technology's acquisition of Cluster Consulting this year, was named a 'master of the new economy' by CIO magazine.

Chunka Mui was one of 10 individuals singled out for their new economy vision. Other notables on the list include two Diamond Fellows, B. Joseph Pine II, founder of Strategic Horizons, and Mohanbir Sawhney, the McCormick Tribune Professor of Electronic Commerce and Technology at Northwestern's Kellogg Graduate School of Business.

Those "masters" not in the e-business integration business include Esther Dyson, Geoffrey Moore, Michael Schrage, Patricia Seybold, David Shenk, Thomas Davenport, and Don Tapscott.

In other Diamond news, the company this week struck an alliance with Calico at the Ground Zero 4 conference in Los Angeles, which wraps up today.

Calico and DiamondCluster worked together on a piece of technology that extends the functionality of Calico's Market Maker product and facilitates management of electronic orders after they have been placed. Sounds like a variant on XML to us!

DiamondCluster's MarketSpace Solutions unit will implement systems for clients using Calico's personalization and e-commerce applications.

Finally, e-business integrator Delinea, Dallas, said this week it teamed with J.D. Edwards' ASP unit.

Delinea used J.D. Edwards' OneWorld financial application for its client Koch Energy Trading. Experience gleaned from this implementation will form the basis of a utilities-and-petroleum Internet application Delinea expects to roll out on an ASP in the first quarter to additional customers.
