Sam Jadallah, former vice president of the Organization Customer Unit, is now vice president of Enterprise Sales for the Redmond-based company. The change was announced internally Friday morning.
In his new role, Jadallah, who used to deal primarily with channel partners, now will work with both channel players and customers, he said.
"One of the things partners always wanted was access to ECU [Enterprise Customer Unit] reps and now I can help with that," Jadallah said.
Jadallah reports to John Connors, vice president of the Enterprise Customer Unit. Connors was formerly chief information officer and moved over when this round of changes started last month.
In essence, Microsoft has merged the Enterprise Customer Unit and Organization Customer Unit into a new group under Connors. Under that umbrella there are now four groups: services, which include Microsoft Consulting Services and partner development; licensing; marketing and public relations; and enterprise sales, run by Jadallah.
Jadallah will have four worldwide sales teams. Paul Bazley will head up the small and medium enterprise group; Bryan Watson will lead the education group; and Peter Conway will lead technical marketing. The company is determining who will head the large enterprise group.
The field sales organization still runs somewhat independently, although some accounts, such as systems integrator EDS Corp., are handled from headquarters, Jadallah said.
