Tech Data Gets Enterprise Content Management Certification

Tech Data is the first distributor to attain this certification. The Clearwater, Fla.-based distributor put six sales specialists through the training, and only about 800 individuals nationwide have received the ECM certification.
The ECM training program covers several aspects of document management, including the tools and technologies relating to document capture, management and storage, as well as information transfer.
"I think it shows our continued commitment to the VARs for our team to be specialists and experts in this particular technology. I think it's really showing we're dedicated to this space and to our business partner and our VARs," said Jennifer Burke, marketing manager for Tech Data's document imaging business unit.
Bob Molinari, president of 1st Run Computer Services, a New York-based solution provider, said knowing that Tech Data's staff has beefed up its certifications will help his company's document-imaging solutions business.
"We've been working with them since 1990, and their internal teams -- the imaging team specifically -- has always been a help," Molinari said. "They're always recommending new things to us." About 40 percent of 1st Run's business comes from document imaging solutions, he said.
Tech Data's document imaging specialists also hold CompTIA's CDIA+ certification for planning and designing document imaging solutions.
