If your solution-provider business is headquartered in the mid-Atlantic region, you're in the good company of some of the top revenue generators of the VARBusiness 500.

The 2007 VARBusiness 500, which will be released June 11, breaks down the revenue generated by the top solution providers in North America by region. The 103 solution providers headquartered in the mid-Atlantic region -- New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C. -- topped the seven regions with more than $126.2 billion in gross revenue. The mid-Atlantic is home to some of the biggest integrators and consulting firms, such as Capgemini, Lockheed Martin and Unisys. It's also the headquarters to the most billion-dollar VARBusiness 500 companies. Combined, this region grew 13.2 percent.

The South -- Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas -- is the fastest growing region of the VARBusiness 500. The 104 companies headquartered in these states increased top-line revenue 17 percent on $63.6 billion in combined revenue.

The best performing region is the Southwest -- Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado. The 37 companies in this region produced combined revenue of $46.2 billion in revenue, up 11.5 percent over 2005. The average revenue for this region is $1,248 billion, slightly better than the average of $1,225.8 billion of the mid-Atlantic, but with about two-thirds fewer companies.

The West -- California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Hawaii and Alaska -- is the fourth highest revenue producing region, but the slowest growing. This region, home to 92 VARBusiness 500 companies, tallied $41.9 billion in revenue, a 7.3 percent increase over 2005.

The Midwest -- Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Kansas -- has the most VARBusiness 500 companies (107), but only generates a combined $40.9 billion in revenue. These companies posted a 13.1 percent revenue increase, nearly equal to the mid-Atlantic.

New England -- Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut -- is home to 42 VARBusiness 500 companies that produce a combined revenue of $21.7 billion. This region's revenue grew 9.6 percent.

The smallest region is Canada. The Great White North has 15 companies on the VARBusiness 500, which generated $6.4 billion in 2006. While this region grew less than 1 percent in 2006, it remains more productive than the Midwest, with average revenue of $426 million, compared to $383 million. Combined, the VARBusiness 500 generated nearly $347 billion in 2006, a 12.4 percent increase over 2005.

The full regional revenue analysis and VARBusiness 500 list is available June 11. Also, don't miss the VARBusiness 500 Conference and Awards, June 11-12, in New York City. VARBusiness will celebrate the achievements of these top performing companies with a full agenda of executive workshops and the awards gala. To register, go to www.varbusiness.com/var500reg.
