The acquisition is expected to close later this month. InfoGenesis provides enterprise-class POS solutions for the hospitality industry, including casinos, hotels, resorts, cruise lines, stadiums and food service operations. The Santa Barbara, Calif.-based company has about 170 employees and totaled revenue of $42 million last year.
This is the fourth acquisition that Agilysys has made in the past six months, following the sale of its KeyLink Systems Group distribution arm to Arrow Electronics for $485 million.
The Boca Raton, Fla.-based solution provider has purchased Innovative Systems Design, a Sun Microsystems reseller; Stack Computer, a solution provider; and Visual One Systems, another hospitality software maker.
The InfoGenesis acquisition will bolster Agilysys' position in the hospitality industry, according to Arthur Rhein, Agilysys chairman and CEO.
"The acquisition will also provide us a competitive advantage with enhanced levels of integration between property management, POS, and inventory and procurement systems, as well as our golf course and spa management applications. Over the years, we have worked closely with InfoGenesis at a number of mutual customer locations and together will market a powerful single-source solution that enables properties to increase guest loyalty and overall profitability," Rhein said in a statement.
