D&H Distributing is now carrying certified refurbished Cisco Systems products aimed toward the SMB market.

The Cisco Certified Refurbished Equipment program offers products with the same warranty, maintenance and support as equivalent new products, but at prices up to 30 percent below new product list prices, according to D&H, of Harrisburg, Pa.

The refurbished products should help smaller businesses afford Cisco equipment, said Dan Schwab, vice president of marketing at D&H.

"A majority of our customers sell to independent businesses, medical practitioners, real estate offices and other small shops that don't necessarily have the resources to outfit themselves with a Cisco infrastructure," Schwab said in a statement. "We're always looking to give those VARs a competitive edge. Refurbished, certified solutions from Cisco offer a cost-effective, reliable way for our resellers to bring these networks up to a level that's comparable to large enterprise. The concept will be very well-received in the field."

D&H has Cisco certified refurbished equipment in stock and much of it is available for same-day shipping it ordered by 7 p.m. EST, according to the company, and products not in stock can still be shipped same day if ordered before 12 p.m. EST. The products can be ordered online.

The products available are a fluid inventory depending on availability, but should include a mix of wireless, routing, switching and security products from Cisco's SMB lines, said Tina Fisher, purchasing director at D&H.

"They will be the top SKUs that are sold from the regular Cisco product lineup. There might be some voice [products] in there too. We recently SKU'd some phones," Fisher said.
