Most everyone loves Thanksgiving turkeys. But IT industry turkeys? Not so much. We look at 10 examples of 'turkeys' that have disappointed the tech industry this year.
The opportunity arose when HP acquired LeftHand Networks, an iSCSI and virtual storage appliance pioneer, last October.
Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, Englewood, Colo., inherited those LeftHand solution providers in November of 2006 when it acquired rival Alternative Technology Inc. (ATI), a LeftHand distributor, said Andy Bratton, vice president of Arrow's HP group.
Arrow has over the last 60 days been working with LeftHand solution providers to get them trained and certified on a wider range of HP storage products, with the goal of helping as many of them as possible get HP Storage Select authorized, Bratton said.
Such an authorization would give them the ability to work with a wide range of HP storage hardware and software up to and including the HP EVA4000 Series of midrange arrays, he said.
"HP has been instrumental in helping with the road map and the transition," he said. "We've migrated dozens so far, and have about 100 more going through the process now."
Arrow has also been busy going the other way, too. "We have also exposed our existing HP resellers to the LeftHand products," Bratton said.
