Popular presentations at the conference covered the best ways to set up a project management office, and effective PPM executive dashboarding tips and techniques, delivered by Mark Perry, director of PMO services at Gantthead. One piece of advice on the former: PMOs designed and driven by the business needs of an organization are generally more effective than "theory-driven" PMOs. One way you can tell the difference, he said, is that a business-driven PMO is understood by a company's top executives, while a theory-driven one must constantly sell itself to management.
