Most everyone loves Thanksgiving turkeys. But IT industry turkeys? Not so much. We look at 10 examples of 'turkeys' that have disappointed the tech industry this year.
"Our mutual customers have been asking for this integration for a long time, and we are thrilled that we can finally deliver this for them thanks to the new Zenith API," said Autotask CEO Bob Godgart, in a statement.
Zenith's new open API provides a platform to share data with other managed services software platforms through Autotask to better understand a customer's needs, said Maurice Saluan, vice president of channel management at Zenith Infotech.
MSPs "can actually have one portal, one dashboard, for all clients. It gives them total access to what tickets are being raised, what assets are out there," Saluan said. "Additionally, if I want to go ahead and do billing, it gives me the ability to apply assets to a contract and generate billing. It cuts down the work tremendously for MSPs and enhances their productivity with clients."
Zenith has an existing relationship with PSA specialist ConnectWise that will continue. The company also will look to broaden its reach with other partners, Saluan said.
"This is just extending our reach," he said. "We've had people asking, 'Can we have access to that API as well?' We're trying to do the best we can to make sure VARs using Zenith and any other packages have the best ability they can to make their systems more efficient -- to have one place to go for information and to access what they need."
Zenith plans to spend the next month or so working out kinks with Autotask with the goal of rolling it out to customers in September, Saluan said.
Zenith opened the API for its SAAZ remote monitoring and management (RMM) tool to integrate with Autotask. Autotask partners will have a more detailed view of end-customer information and can automate many tasks associated with servicing their end clients.
SAAZ includes asset discovery, contract and invoice management, remote access, help desk support and ticket alert synchronization, according to Zenith.
Zenith becomes the latest addition to Autotask's product technology partners roster, a list of nearly 20 companies including other MSP platform vendors such as Dell, HoundDog Technology, Ingram Micro's Seismic, Kaseya, Level Platforms, and N-able Technologies.
