There's a misconception circulating through the channel that hosted security applications bring in less money for Solution Providers than on premises, server-based application deployments.
This thinking doesn't take into account the steeply discounted renewal fees being attached to on premises, hardware-based applications, or the opportunity for Solution Providers to sell other services to customers who still have budget because a hosted service eliminated the capital expenditures of a new server.
