VARs and Vendor Certification: More Emphasis On The Value, Less On The Reselling ' IT vendors today are asking more of their channel partners. Companies such as IBM, Microsoft and Oracle are urging " and in some cases requiring " that solution providers step up their game and become certified in the vendor's technology, in the services offered by the partners, and even in the vertical markets into which they sell. ' For channel partners this can mean a greater commitment to a vendor and its products. It can also mean added training expenses and other costs.
