Targeting high-density workgroups and the small networks of mid-market companies, Netgear Inc. announced 24-and 48-port 10/100 Layer 3 Managed Stackable Switches. The switches include four Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.

Announced Tuesday, the FSM7328S (24 ports) and the FSM7352S (48 ports) have auto-sensing 10/100 ports in addition to four 10/100/1000 ports for fiber connectivity via four combo hot-swappable Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) gigabit interfaces.

Noting that data deliver can be delivered fast and free from error, the two switches' performance features include traffic management, RADIUS authentication and advanced Quality of Service, Netgear said.

"The incorporation of the four Gigabit Ethernet interfaces into these managed switches adds an unprecedented level of flexibility for stacking additional switches, directly connecting file servers, or aggregating critical data to the core of the network," said Demetrios Coulis, Netgear Product Line Manager, in a statement.

The switches will be available March 30 with list prices of $655 and $1115 for the 24- and 48-port devices, respectively.
