Cisco Systems was the go-to SMB networking infrastructure vendor for the channel in 2008, and the vendor appeared to get stronger as the year wore on, according to new research by the Institute for Partner Education & Development
By wide margins, Cisco Systems took the top spot when it came to the dollar value share of all proposals written by solution providers in the first half of 2008, as well as deals closed in the first half and deals expected to close in the second half, according to the Channel Affinity Index. Cisco also struck a chord with end users, according to solution providers, as end customer brand preference was chosen by VARs as the most important of 15 factors they consider when choosing a networking infrastructure vendor.
