Head of Software Out at HP

On Tuesday, Nora Denzel, senior vice president and general manager of HP's Software Global Business Unit, resigned for personal reasons. Her last day on the job will be Dec. 9, according to an HP spokesman.

The Palo Alto, Calif., technology giant offered no further explanation as to why Denzel, who has worked at HP since 2000, is leaving. She could not be reached for comment.

In her absence, HP's software business will be headed up on an interim basis by Todd DeLaughter, senior vice president and general manager of HP's OpenView Business Unit, the spokesman said.

HP is currently a company is the midst of dramatic changes. On Nov. 17 the vendor reported that its fiscal fourth-quarter profit fell 62 percent after taking a $1.1 billion charge for restructuring-related costs and other expenses. Under Denzel, HP's software business had just returned to profitability, the spokesman said.
