N-able Launches New Velocity System For MSPs

Managed services software provider N-able this week launched a new suite of solutions for MSPs, dubbed Velocity System.

N-able's Velocity System consists of five different solutions for application, desktop, network, security and Voice over IP services that allow solution providers to customize their managed services offerings to specific customers. The suite also consists of three new and upgraded features, starting with N-Central 5.0, the company's remote-monitoring and management platform (RMM). N-able says the newest version of the platform offers VARs enhanced reporting features as well as greater integration and interoperability with heterogeneous environments, including Linux, Novell, Solaris and Windows. N-Central 5.0 also supports up to 5,000 devices and 50,000 tasks, which is twice as many as the previous version, according to the company.

In addition, Velocity offers MSPs service workflow-optimization tools that help configure and maintain managed services offerings for specific customers, as well as business-transformation resources and support tools, such as Velocity Blueprint and N-able University, that help VARs transform themselves into MSPs. N-able president and CEO Mark Scott says the Velocity Systems gives reseller customers solutions and services instead of merely a set of software applications.

"It's a build-your-own-MSP platform," Scott says. "We probably spent the past two years working on N-Central 5.0 because we want to take MSPs to the next generation of the market."

While N-able sees most of its business around desktop-focused managed services, Scott says hosted application and VoIP services are gaining momentum. He also says N-able will continue to focus on growing its N-able Channel Organization, which the company launched in June and currently boasts more than 600 MSPs.
