Defywire Inks Pact With PC Connection

"The great thing about PC Connection is that it's shown us we can deliver on the channel model," said Jill Stelfox, CEO of Defywire, Reston, Va. "That means bringing together a full solution for the end user, and the only way to do that from our end is through partnerships."

Defywire plans to recruit 65 solution providers by the end of the year.

The Defywire Mobility Suite, which embeds the webMethods integration platform, aims to provide wireless access to legacy and enterprise applications from Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP and Siebel Systems. The idea is to do a better job of providing mobile professionals with realtime access to critical business information from any Java-based device.

Robert Wilkins, executive vice president of Merrimack, N.H.-based PC Connection, said his company is impressed with Defywire's products.

"We think they've put together a really good software suite," Wilkins said. "It's simple, it's integrated, and it will reduce costs for anybody in the deployment of handheld technology for business use."
