Customer/Market
San Diego County Bar Association

Concept
The SDCBA manages more than 35 mailing lists for its 8,500 members, but found that its existing mailing-list server software couldn't link a member's active subscription status with the status of their dues.

Challenge
The SDCBA wanted a mailing-list server that could integrate with its back-end database to identify and "un-subscribe" members with lapsed dues automatically. To do this, the association needed to integrate the mailing-list management functionality with a back-end CRM tool.

Solution
CCS deployed its TradeWinds ListManager (LSM) to manage the association's mailing list, then implemented the Gordano Messaging Suite (GMS) Communication Server and GMS Mail Server. The Communication Server uses ODBC to connect to LSM and the back-end database. The integrated system serves as a CRM tool and manages the association's membership billing, events, committees, certification and other services.

Key To Success
"We configured the customer's lists to protect a valuable member benefit, including the networking opportunities that the list provides. The integrated system works with 24 different lists, and this is just their rollout."
-Troy Cantrell, director of consulting and technology, CCS
