Salesforce.com has inked a strategic alliance with Deloitte Consulting under which the systems integrator and IT consulting firm will add Salesforce's software-as-a-service CRM applications and Apex on-demand software platform to its CRM consulting practice. The relationship is expected to help Salesforce increase its presence inside larger businesses.
Under the deal, announced Tuesday, Deloitte is providing implementation and business consulting services to customers of Salesforce's on-demand CRM apps. Deloitte will help businesses in vertical markets implement Salesforce applications and transform their sales operations, says Bobby Napiltonia, Salesforce's senior vice president of worldwide channels and alliances. Deloitte also will help customers build on-demand applications that run on the Apex platform.
The relationship with Deloitte should help Salesforce sell its on-demand CRM applications to more large businesses. Although Salesforce's customer base was originally heavily weighted with smaller companies, Napiltonia says Salesforce's customer roster today is more evenly distributed across small, midsize and large companies.
Salesforce has partnerships with other systems integrators, including Accenture, IBM Business Consulting Services, Satyam Computer Services, Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro Technologies.
