Ricoh Launches Small Business MFP Solution To Resellers

Ricoh Americas has a new offering for its resellers that works with small businesses -- DocuClass Express MFP, a management software solution.

The entry-level offering provides document capture, storage and retrieval functions enabling smaller firms to protect information, adhere to regulatory compliance and reduce costs associated with maintaining paper documents.

DocuClass Express MFP also can be upgraded to an enterprise-scale content-management solution.

After realizing that MFPs could spell big opportunities for the channel, Ricoh partnered with Cima Software to create Embedded Software Architecture, an open architecture platform, according to Ron Potesky, Ricoh's senior vice president, corporate communications, product/solutions and channel marketing.

The software solution is available to the Ricoh channel through the Ricoh Independent Solutions Vendor Program. RiSVP is one of three Ricoh Alliance programs, and was developed with input from Ricoh solution partners and Ricoh's direct and dealer channels.

"By providing RiSVP member products directly from Ricoh, the direct and dealer channels have more opportunities for new revenue growth and simplified sales operations," the company said in a statement.

The initial licensing package for DocuClass Express MFP includes three user licenses and one MFP Link license for interface to Ricoh MFPs. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) licenses and auditing can be added separately. The suggested selling price of DocuClass Express is $2,300.
