Oracle Completes $1 Billion ATG Acquisition

Oracle disclosed its plans to acquire the Cambridge, Mass.-based ATG in November.

The acquisition, combined with other Oracle software, lets the vendor offer customers a complete lineup of cross-channel CRM, retail and e-commerce applications that enable unified marketing, merchandising, service and order management, and supply chain management, Oracle said.

“Companies require an integrated solution that can help them unify commerce across all interaction channels, including online, in stores, via mobile devices and with call centers,” said Thomas Kurian, executive vice president, Oracle Development, in a statement. “The combination of technologies from Oracle and ATG provides consistent cross-channel interactions, unified service, and an improved customer experience all built on an industry standard middleware platform.”

Oracle has scheduled a Webcast for 9:00 a.m. (PST) Thursday to detail its product strategy for the combined ATG and Oracle product lines.
