Salesforce.com Elevates Hu To COO Post

Salesforce.com

As COO Hu is now responsible for all major shared operational functions at Salesforce, according to the company, including information technology, facilities, security and "employee success." He's also in charge of the company's platform division, global marketing, strategic alliances and corporate development.

Hu reports to CEO Marc Benioff, as he did before in his previous job: executive vice president of platform, marketing and operations.

"George's leadership over the past nine years has been key to driving Salesforce.com's growth to over a $2 billion run rate," Benioff said in a statement. The CEO said he looks forward to Hu's "vision and leadership" as the company grows to "$10 billion and beyond."

Parker Harris, who co-founded Salesforce with Benioff in 1999 and holds the title of executive vice president of technology, remains in charge of the company's product development work.
