Business Objects on Tuesday said that it plans to offer professional services geared toward vertical markets, and named a new head of services.
Mark Doll, who was appointed senior vice president of professional services, most recently served as a partner of consulting company Ernst & Young, managing its Security and Technology Solutions group, among other duties.
Doll, who will report directly to chief executive John Schwarz, will focus on expanding the business intelligence software maker's global services, as well as developing vertical market offerings.
"At Business Objects, we are looking forward to having Mark lead our team to transition from product enablement services to business intelligence consultancy," Schwarz said in a statement.
Business Objects had headquarters in San Jose, Calif., and in Paris.
