Linksys Launches Gigabit Ethernet Switches For Small Business

Cisco Systems' Linksys division launched Wednesday a series of Gigabit and Fast Ethernet switches that feature WebView monitoring tools that permit administrators to control their networks remotely. <P> The new devices aim to provide small businesses with an inexpensive way to migrate networks from Fast Ethernet to Gigabit. The rackmount switches start at about $9 a port, Cisco said. <P> The product family is divided into three segments of Gigabit Ethernet, Dual Fast Ethernet and Gigabit, and Dual Fast Ethernet and Gigabit with Power-over Ethernet. The switches range from 16 to 48 ports.
