At its upcoming PartnerWorld conference, IBM plans to release a new SOA-focused Solution Builder Express package, bundling together software and deployment resources to help partners assist midmarket companies with creating services-based infrastructures.
IBM's SOA Solution Builder Express bundle will be tailored to address five common IT project areas, according to a source familiar with the plans: improving operational efficiency, employee access to data, customer retention and employee productivity, and reducing administrative costs. The package draws on expertise IBM has developed through its work on enterprise SOA projects, and repackages the company's tools and methodologies in a way intended to assist business partners in their work with SMB clients.
IBM began building its Solution Builder Express portfolio three years ago and now has more than 60 product offerings in the collection. The line draws on IBM's WebSphere middleware technology, pulling together components in linked bundles offered to resellers and ISVs for use in their software and services packages. IBM's new package is its first specifically targeting the SOA market.
The bundle is scheduled for immediate availability at IBM's PartnerWorld show, which begins March 12 in Las Vegas.
