Two months after naming Jim Leto CEO of Chantilly, Va.-based GTSI, the government integrator (No. 12 on the 2005 GovernmentVAR 100) has promoted Bob Mitchell to group vice president of operations, in addition to his current role as CIO. New responsibilities include oversight of customer service, purchasing, configuration, warranty, order management and distribution.
"Bob has done such an outstanding job developing and implementing a strategy to stabilize and subsequently improve our new ERP implementation that we want to utilize his expertise to help drive overall organizational process improvement...which makes us more efficient and better able to improve our customers' experience with GTSI ," Leto said, in a statement.
Mitchell, who will report directly to Leto, has been at GTSI for four years, though his background in IT, finance, sales and marketing spans nearly two decades.
