A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words
That saying is definitely true with the SNC-RX550N, an enhanced version of the Sony IPELA surveillance camera. It's the result of a partnership between Motorola and Sony, in which Sony's video technology is combined with Motorola's Mesh Enabled Architecture, or MEA. That architecture lets cameras act as independent access points for up to four radio networks, essentially making them wireless network routers. The cameras, which feature 360-degree pan and tilt range from 0 to 90 degrees, can provide government agencies, police forces and municipalities with far greater situational awareness than standard IP-enabled surveillance cameras. The advance lens gives users magnification of up to 26 times. Marketed under the Motorola brand, the SNC-RX550N will provide government users with greater surveillance reach, power and flexibility than conventional analog or digital-camera systems.
