HP Forms Asia-Pacific Tech Center In Bangalore

The center, which will be equipped with servers, storage and software solutions, is designed to provide customers and partners experience working with HP products to create adaptive network infrastructure and other applications.

Unlike other technology centers, HP's will seek separate hype from reality by providing technical guidance and technology demonstrations, the company said.

In a separate announcement, Infinera Corp. said it would double the size of its R and D center here to employ 200, to meet growing market demand for its DTN digital optical networking solution.

At the same time, Infinera (Sunnyvale, Calif.) is also broadening its expertise here to take on more ASIC and hardware development and verification work, in addition to the software development and system testing it has been doing here the last four years.

The Infinera DTN optical system combines scalable DWDM transport, reconfigurable switching capability, and GMPLS-based service intelligence in a single platform.
