Despite lots of advanced information that leaked out about the Star Wars: Episode I games, most of the media didn't pick up on the ace LucasArts was quietly holding in its hand.
At the Electronic Entertainment Expo today, the company announced another Star Wars: Episode I title featuring the character Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Mary Birh, LucasArts director of sales and marketing, said the title will be a combination action/adventure that starts with Obi-Wan as a young Jedi. It will ship in "early winter" for the PC platform.
Assuming the role of the ancient warrior, players must learn to master the force as they progress through the levels. The game, called Episode I: Obi-Wan, will bring "advanced artificial intelligence and motion capture" to give the graphics a more cinematic look, Bihr said. Additional information about the title will be released this summer.
Episode I: Obi-Wan, will join a line of several other Episode I titles slated to start shipping when the hugely-anticipated movie opens six days from now. Among those are Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace for PC and PlayStation, Star Wars: Episode I Racer for the Nintendo 64 and PC, shipping this month. Also scheduled to ship in the summer is Star Wars: Episode I Insider's Guide, a behind the scenes look at the making of the film, for the PC and Mac.
