ARC Monitors: ViewSonic Takes Top Honors

ViewSonic dominated this year's Annual Report Card's ranking of display technology by sweeping all categories except one, product availability.

Much of the credit for ViewSonic's success goes to its legion of channel partners, says Matthew Gill, senior vice president of sales and marketing at the Walnut, Calif.-based vendor. "For ViewSonic, we've continued to adapt as the channel has grown and changed, but through all things, we've remained focused on how to maximize the synergy between our role and that of our solution providers," he says.

Last month, Viewsonic introduced PartnerView, a partner-relationship management (PRM) solution designed to further enhance communications between the company and its integrators. "The integrated nature of PartnerView will also ensure that ViewSonic's solution providers have greatly enhanced access to the market and sales support, special pricing, marketing funds and all of the elements that ensure a successful and profitable partnership," Gill notes.

In addition, the PRM solution should help ViewSonic improve the one area integrators say it was lagging. "The obvious area [we must improve] is product availability for our partners," says Gill, adding that the company experienced a surge of sales for its 21-inch monitors that outstripped availability. "We didn't do the kind of job we expected of ourselves to surge supply in order to meet the demand," he says. "Thankfully, we have since recovered and have put mechanisms in place that will ensure that ViewSonic can meet our obligations, even when demand for our products surges unexpectedly."
