VocalTec Communications Ltd. named Douglas Dunn, former AT&T Corp. executive and current dean of Carnegie Mellon University's Graduate School of Industrial Administration (GSIA), to its board of directors.
Dunn has served as GSIA's dean since 1996, emphasizing technology, globalization and entrepreneurship in the school's programs. During his tenure, he created a concentration and specialized master's degree program in e-commerce.
Before joining Carnegie Mellon University, Dunn held numerous positions at AT&T, including vice president of visual communications and multimedia strategy, vice president of southern region governmental affairs and vice president of regulatory matters. He also worked as a technical staff member in mathematics research for eight years at AT&T Bell Laboratories.
Dunn's appointment follows the appointment in November of William Schrader, chairman, chief executive and founder of PSINet Inc. to the board.+
