In the wake of last week's terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, D.C., distributor Ingram Micro has made the decision to postpone its upcoming VentureTech Network Fall 2001 Invitational event until the middle of next month.

The event, which was scheduled to be held Sept. 23 to 26 in Anaheim, Calif., will instead take place Oct. 14 to 17, according to e-mails sent out late last week from Ingram Micro executives to attendees and participants.

The decision was reportedly made after Ingram executives, including vice president of channel development Bob Stegner, held a conference call with the VTN Advisory Council, and all 12 members of the board voted to postpone the event.

Ingram is the latest hi-tech organization that has chosen to postpone or cancel upcoming trade shows and conferences in the wake of the terrorist attacks. For a listing of other events affected go to Update: Industry Conferences Put On Hold.
