American Red Cross
Candle Lighting: Friday Night at 7 p.m. step out your door, stop your car, or step out of your establishment and light a candle to show the world that Americans are strong and united together against terrorism.
Volunteering: New York's Jacob Javits Convention Center is serving as a staging and registration area for volunteers, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. until further notice. Unionized iron workers can volunteer by registering there. The center is located at 11th Ave. and 35th St.
Supplies: If you wish to drop off supplies (specifically: respirators and filters, work gloves, latex gloves, hard hats and medical supplies: especially saline bags, butterfly infusion sets, antacids, foot powder and sanitary napkins), go to the parking lot south of the Javits Center at 34th St. and the West Side Highway.
