Palm Releases New Color Handhelds

Palm's m130 and m515 handhelds feature a screen with 65,000 colors, Palm's dual-expansion slot that supports both SD cards and MultimediaCards, rechargeable batteries and Palm's OS version 4.1. Pricing for the devices is $279 for the m130 with 8 Mbytes of RAM and $399 for the m515 with 16 Mbytes of RAM and a larger screen than the m130.

The news comes on the heels of Palm's February developer conference, where the company's operating system division unveiled a variety of higher-end software features, such as multitasking and enhanced multimedia, and support for the more powerful ARM processors. Devices based on the new platform are expected to ship by midyear.
