Mobile Solution Proves Easy Sell For Solution Provider

Tailored Automation

But after joining up with mobile application developer ViaFone, in a collaboration unveiled Monday, Caniglia said she was able to close the deal in record time.

"They made their decision in 30 days," Caniglia said. "For financial customers, it usually takes months."

In this case, Tailored Automation and ViaFone rolled out a mobile Goldmine solution for First of Omaha Merchant Processing Division. ViaFone, Brisbane, Calif., provided its mobile middleware platform, OneBridge Mobile Server, and integration assistance. Tailored Automation, a Goldmine authorized reseller, implemented the Goldmine solution.

Caniglia said this solution was unusually painless to implement.

Tailored Automation was able to reduce the bank's $130,000-yearly costs for connecting about 50 remote workers via T1 lines. Now First of Omaha salespeople will be able to access corporate e-mail and customer data via a wireless carrier for what Caniglia called a negligible fee.

Of particular importance to First of Omaha was obtaining a secure system. After considerable research, Caniglia ViaFone was chosen for its high level of security.

"The [bank's security tech people were brainstorming how they could find fault with this solution and they couldn't find anything," she said.

With this solution under its belt, Tailored Automation has begun pitching mobile extensions to Goldmine's sales-force automation and other applications to its existing customer base.

Caniglia said the money savings and productivity enhancements for mobile solutions nearly sell themselves, an unusual occurrence in a tight market.
