Check Point Sees Results Missing Estimates

The forecast sent Check Point shares plunging in pre-open trading, to $21 from a Wednesday close of $27.46 on Nasdaq.

The Israeli-based leader in firewall protection and virtual private networks said it expects earnings of 24 cents or 25 cents per share on revenue of $104 million to $105 million.

Analysts on average were expecting a profit of 29 cents a share on revenue of $122.16 million.

In January Check Point said it expected first-quarter revenue to be about the same as the fourth quarter's $122.5 million and forecast that it would meet Wall Street's outlook for its earnings.
