AMD Taps Former IBM Exec As Worldwide Sales VP

Henri Richard, who comes to AMD from a similar post at WebGain, will report to Rob Herb, AMD's executive vice president and chief sales and marketing officer.

Richard also worked as president of Bell Microproducts Computer Products Group, as well as vice president of sales and marketing worldwide distribution and e-business for IBM's Technology Group, AMD said in a statement.

Other changes are on tap at AMD, Sunnyvale, Calif., the No. 2 maker of desktop processors for Windows-based systems.

Later this month, AMD Chairman and CEO Jerry Sanders is slated to step down from the company's top post and turn the reins over to COO Hector Ruiz.
