iAnywhere Solutions Launches Mobile Management Technology

Manage Anywhere Studio, part of iAnywhere's m-Business platform, is designed to provide a single control point for an enterprise to distribute, install and manage applications and data on remote systems and mobile devices. The new software suite is an extension of iAnywhere's earlier mobile management solution, Mobile Manager, that showcases enhanced security and scalability for enterprise-level customers. IAnywhere officials believe the new solution will help fill the demand for increased management capabilities for the growing market of mobile technology.

"Managing mobile devices used to be an afterthought," says Rob Veitch, director of business development at iAnywhere. "With the increase in PDAs, laptops and other devices, people now have quickly realized there's a management issue for mobile devices in the enterprise."

Most of Manage Anywhere Studio's new features are centered on security. For example, the product suite offers auditing capabilities to enable customers to track which employees make specific changes to the system while providing assigned administrator levels to each function. In addition, Manage Anywhere Studio also offers self-healing technology to secure configurations on client machines and virus protection files

The new solution has also made enhancements for scalability with intelligent bandwith technology, which allocates the proper amount of information for optimal network transmission by measuring available bandwith.

"The intelligent bandwith technology reads the bandwith that's available so that [Manage Anywhere Studio won't transmit so much data at one time that it brings down the network," Veitch saysd.

The software solution can now offer better performance for transfering large files, Veitch says. Manage Anywhere Studio also supports Microsoft Windows XP and Pocket PC, RIM BlackBerry technology and Palm OS software.
