Response Networks Offers Alert Service For Potential SLA Violations

Response Networks

Rather than send a page or e-mail to a service provider when a violation or problem occurs, the software monitor sets parameters for network and application performance and alerts the service provider when performance parameters are in danger of being overreached.

"It predicts performance by looking at historical and current performance data to predict where the performance will end up in a given period. An alert can be sent out to say, 'You're three days into this period, and you're already in danger of violating your SLA in this area,' " said Phil Hollows, vice president of product marketing for Response Networks, based here.

The SLM solution also sends report cards to service providers and their customers that show performance levels and where potential problems may arise.

The product, called Pulsar xSP, also now provides a fully integrated view of the performance of Openwave Systems' e-mail solution.

Pulsar xSP is being beta-tested with small focus groups of network service providers. Hollows wouldn't release the names of the service providers using the product.
