Carly Fiorina and Michael Capellas: The New HP

Tuesday is the first day of business for the new Hewlett-Packard. It has integrated Compaq into its business, website and even its stock symbol, with a change from "HWP" to "HPQ." Chairman and CEO Carly Fiorina and president Michael Capellas sent the following letter to partners to welcome partners to the merged company.

Dear HP customer,

We have doubled the size of our sales force, enabling us to serve you more effectively and deliver greater value. We have increased our research and development capabilities so that we continue to make meaningful advances in technology that benefit you. And we have strengthened our position as the world's most innovative and successful consumer IT company, which gives us a unique opportunity to help our customers bridge the world between digital content and commerce.

Around the world, employees and partners of the new HP will make every effort to ensure that your day-to-day interactions with the new company go smoothly throughout the integration period, and beyond.
