UpShot Gives Offline Access To Productivity Tools

The service, called UpShot Office, gives users online or offline access to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project, as well as other third-party applications such as accounting and e-mail apps, the company said.

When a salesperson adds a customer's information, such as a quote, into Excel, UpShot Office automatically changes the salesperson's forecast, for example. Or, the salesperson can go directly from Upshot to an Excel spreadsheet, according to UpShot.

"Salespeople aren't using CRM applications to create a presentation," said Keith Raffel, founder and chairman of Upshot, based here. "They're using tools like PowerPoint, and they're often doing their work remotely so it only makes sense to give them offline and online access to those tools."

UpShot Office also includes a proposal generator, a quoting tool and other features, should salespeople opt to work within the CRM solution instead of linking to the productivity tools.
