D-Link

Utilizing a collaboration agreement with Texas Instruments, D-Link built its wireless hardware around the TI ACX 100 wireless chip, which can provide up to 22 Mbps throughput, according to Bradley Morse, vice president of marketing at D-Link. Traditional Wi-Fi products offer speeds of up to 11 Mbps. In addition, the TI chip provides an extended range, Morse said.

The lineup includes the DI-614++Wireless Router priced at $149; the AirPlus DWL-900AP Wireless Access point priced at $129; the AirPlus Wireless CardBus Adapter priced at $89; and the DWL-520++Wireless PCI Adapter priced at $99.

All products include 256-bit WEP encryption and MAC address authentication. They are fully complaint with other 802.11b products, the company said.
