J.D. Edwards Channel Exec Describes New Partner Plans

J.D. Edwards

"We do a good job with accounts that are $130 million to $50 million" in yearly sales, Manion said in an interview with CRN. "What can we do for the smaller marketplace, for the [companies selling $50 million or less?"

J.D. Edwards is not considering marketing an abbreviated version of its products to fit these smaller clients, Manion said. "If you're going to bring a quality product to the market, you can't back off functionality," she said.

Manion said the company just signed a new Genesis partner for the Northeast region. Boston's Oasis Group is J.D. Edwards' newest distributor.

J.D. Edwards COO Hank Bonde also confirmed Tuesday that the company is in talks to raise the revenue cap of clients Genesis partners may pursue. Currently, that ceiling is $130 million in annual revenue. Bonde said talks are under way to let Genesis partners pursue deals with clients that generate as much as $200 million in sales.

No decisions have been made, Bonde said, and likely none will be before the fall, when J.D. Edwards typically makes changes to its partner programs.

By the same token, Manion said, no final decisions about adding smaller businesses to Genesis partners' target lists have been made, nor are any expected to be made before Nov. 1, when the company starts its next fiscal year.
