NetIQ Updates SQL Server Management Suite

NetIQ

The revised DiagnosticManager gives database administrators (DBAs) new reports and views and promises to help them better manage databases and tables. For example, it will make it easier for them to ascertain which tables are growing fastest to optimize performance, said Diane Garey, product marketing manager for NetIQ, based here.

Also updated is RecoveryManager, a product licensed from Lumigent. The new version lets DBAs see who is changing database schemas and supports new data types including BLOBs (binary large objects), Garey said.

In addition, the suite includes AppManager for SQL Server and ConfigurationManager for SQL Server. The 1.0 release of the suite has been shipping since April.

Currently, NetIQ sells the product direct, but plans to promote it through the reseller channel this fall, Garey said.
