Inetium, Navantis Take Home Best In Show Awards

Inetium, Chanhassen, Minn., received a Best In Show award for creating a suite of applications for Brandl Anderson Homes, a home-building company in Burnsville, Minn.

Meanwhile, Toronto-based Navantis was recognized for an enterprise solution it constructed for Trade Settlement, a New York-based financial institution.

CRN's Steven Burke, Navantis' Jason Martin and Microsoft's Allison Watson share the stage at last week's Fusion conference.

The Inetium solution significantly increased the level of customer service for the home buyer via a personalized Web interface to information about a specific home, according to the solution provider. The solution allowed Brandl and its customers to dynamically manage all facets of the home-building process, including purchase orders, change orders, billing and payment schedules, Inetium said. The application also offered the ability to update the database via wireless handheld, desktop or Web applications.

The Inetium solution used Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Database, Small Business Server and Internet Information Server. It was developed using Visual Basic 6.0, Embedded Visual Basic 3.0 and SQL Server CE.

Navantis' hosted solution relied on .Net to create a service for investment banks such as Goldman Sachs and J.P.Morgan Chase, the solution provider said.

Navantis' work for Trade Settlement resulted in an Internet-based B2B application that handles trillions of dollars in loan transactions, according to Navantis.

The solution, which Navantis said was selected by the customer over a higher-priced Sun Microsystems-Oracle-Java alternative, replaced a paper-based, labor-intensive manual process used to secure major secondary bond deals and syndicate 10-figure loans for merger and acquisition activity.

The Navantis solution used a BizTalk engine and consisted of five physical servers per cluster managed by App Center. Commerce Server was used for user authentication, membership management and workflow.

CRN has presented a dozen Best In Show awards this year in conjunction with key vendors. It plans to profile the winners in October in its Fastest Growing solution provider special report.
