IBM

New partners in the IBM PartnerWorld Portlet Providers Offering, including i2 and Vignette, will extend choices available to WebSphere portal customers and provide ways to add content, processes and applications, said Tim Thatcher, program director for WebSphere portals at IBM.

The new portlets will bring tools and services to business intelligence, content management, CRM, e-commerce, ERP and wireless applications.

Thatcher said Wednesday's announcement is an extension of IBM's Web application strategy and aggressive effort at gaining market share in the portal market.

"We have seen tremendous interest among our customers for portal solutions of all types," Thatcher said. "We had an extremely good year, and we have not seen the interest wane at all--in fact the interest continues to grow."
