HP Managers Dominate Post-Merger Executive Appointments

The glaring exception is in the new Enterprise Systems Group, to be headed by current Compaq executive Peter Blackmore. And of the 18 managers named this week to head up HP's network storage, high-end servers and enterprise software business, 11 are currently Compaq employees, including four of the five global regional general managers.

That contrasts sharply with the new HP Personal Systems Group headed by current HP executive Duane Zitzner. Nine of the 13 managers who will have responsibility for PCs and other access devices are current HP managers.

HP's new services business also appears that it will have a decidedly HP flavor post-merger. Of the 13 IT service managers named this week, nine are currently HP executives. Ann Livermore, currently HP's top services executive, has been tapped to head the new group.

Below are the names and areas of responsibility for the senior managers designated to key positions within HP's four new business groups and in the company's global corporate functions. Following the name and title of each new manager is either 'HP' or "Compaq" to identify the company that he or she currently works for. Some executives, notably those in finance, are listed twice, once in the group for which they have financial oversight, and a second time in the HP Finance and Administration area.
