AltiGen Launches New Alliance Program, Releases SDK

AltiGen Communications

The Converged Communications Alliance Program is an umbrella program that includes three components: AltiGen's Authorized Reseller Program for solution providers, its Business Partner Program for distribution and finance partners, and the newly launched Solutions Program for third-party software developers, said Jim Puchbauer, director of marketing at AltiGen, Fremont.

AltiGen also released its software developer's kit (SDK), which previously was only available to a select group of partners, Puchbauer said. Pricing for the SDK starts at $3,800.

Solution providers will see no change in their day-to-day channel relationships with AltiGen under the new umbrella program, but will now have expanded access to development and marketing support, he said.

"Our partners are able to take advantage of initiatives in each of the other programs," Puchbauer said.

For example, solution providers can sell the SDK to other developers or their own customers, or use it themselves to develop customized applications for AltiGen's IP telephony platform, he said.

Solution providers or other third parties can submit custom-built solutions to AltiGen for certification. Once certified, the solutions are marketed by AltiGen, Puchbauer said.

AltiGen plans to produce Web-based training seminars on certified solutions for its channel partners and deliver mail and e-mail campaigns, as well as Web site listings, targeted at solution providers and customers, he said.
