Microsoft Names 13 Partner Award Winners

The list of North American winners included ASAP Software, for Anti-Piracy Advocate of the Year; Quadrus Development Inc, for Business Intelligence Solution of the Year; Municipal Software, for Packaged Application of the Year; Inetium Technology Solutions, for Small-Business Solution of the Year; and Navantis Inc., for E-Commerce Solution of the Year.

Officials from Quadrus, of Calgary, Alberta, picked up the business intelligence award for developing a settlement analytics solution using SQL Server 2000 Accelerator for Business Intelligence for Enmax Energy Corp. that allows the buyer and seller of energy to generate analytical reports in two hours. Using Excel in the past, the customer formerly spent four weeks generating the same data. The acclerator "cut down development time dramatically," said Michael Matrick, vice president of business solutions for Quadrus, following the ceremony.

Inetium, of Minneapolis, Minn, developed an application for home builder Brandl Anderson Homes of Burnsville, Minn, that used Small Business Server, SQL Server 2000, ISA and Windows CE, Inetium officials said after receiving their award. "It lets them manage their business more effectively," said Keith Rachey, president of Inetium, which has 45 employees. The application enabled the home builder to double its business or the number of homes sold using the site, officials said.

Several international solution providers picked up top awards this year, including AP Automation, Productivity AG of Germany for .Net Application of the Year; NESS ISI Limited of Israel for Infrastructure Solution of the Year; Avanade Brazil for Collaborative Solution of the Year and Netscope Training for Microsoft CTEC Solution of the Year.

The winners were chosen from a list of 45 finalists announced in late June.

During the ceremony, Microsoft also awarded Unisys Global Services partner of the Year; Apptix for Global Hosting and Application Services Partner of the Year; and Divine (formerly Data Return) for Global Application Infrastructure Services Partner of the Year.

Immedient, of Denver, Colo, won Microsoft's Project 2002 Business Value Challenge.
