Qwest Channel Exec To Resign

Qwest Communications International

A Qwest spokesman confirmed that McDonnell's last day is Aug. 5. Patrick Lewis, senior vice president of indirect channels, will absorb his responsibilities.

In recent months, Qwest partners have complained that channel executives and managers come and go quickly at the carrier. "We keep losing our channel managers and support has gone downhill," said an executive with a master agent who requested anonymity.

In March, Craig Schlagbaum, who partners largely credited with developing Qwest's Business Partner Program and introducing more channel-friendly engagements between partners and the carrier, resigned.

Schlagbaum is now vice president of channel sales at NTT/Verio.
